Jim Gary takes out Pete Nelson in 4 games

Game 1

Jim 5 Pete 1 (Jimenez vs. Wainwright)

Jim    100 020 200-  5 8 0
Pete  000 010 000-  1 3 1

Ryan Braun gets things going for Jim with a solo shot in the 1st inning. Torii Hunter adds to Jim's lead with a 2-run blast of his own in the 5th inning off of Adam Wainwright to make it 3-0. Jose Reyes breaks up Ubaldo Jimenez' no-hitter and shutout with a two out solo shot in Pete's half of the 5th to cut Jim's lead to 3-1. Joey Votto gives Jim some insurance with a 2-run "XXXXXXX' Joey" (Insert New York guido accent here) sausage and peppers blast in the 7th inning off of Takahashi Saito to make it 5-1. Jimenez cruises from there to get the complete game victory.

Votto goes 3 for 5 with a HR for Jim. Jose Reyes goes 1 for 2 with a HR and a SB for Pete.

Game 2

Jim 4 Pete 2 (Buchholz vs. Cahill)

Jim    031 000 000-  4 6 0
Pete  000 002 000-  2 6 0

In the 2nd inning, Pedro Alvarez takes Trevor Cahill deep for a 2-run shot, followed immediately by an Alexei Ramirez blast to give Jim an early 3-0 lead. Colby Rasmus hits a solo shot in the 3rd to give Jim a 4-0 lead.

In the 6th inning, Pete gets a RBI single from Reyes and a RBI double by Brandon Phillips to cut Jim's lead to 4-2 and chased Clay Buchholz from the game. Jim then employs his slew of bullpen castaways, five of them to be exact in this game, to get the final 10 outs and the victory. Joel Hanrahan gets the final two outs for the save.

Pedro Alvarez goes 3 for 3 with a HR for Jim. Brandon Phillips goes 2 for 4 with a double for Pete.

Game 3

Jim 2 Pete 1 (10 Innings) (Verlander vs. B. Myers)

Pete   000 000 001 0-  1 7 0
Jim    000 000 100 1-  2 8 0

This was the game that had the most drama in the series. In the top of the 7th, Jim gets a solo shot from Nelson Cruz off of Brett Myers (rolled a 5-5, HR to 6, flyout the rest) to give Jim a 1-0 lead after 7 innings. Pete threatens in the 8th, but leaves runners at the corners after Rafael Betancourt retires a locked Michael Cuddyer (due to a Youkilis injury) to squash the uprising.

Jim brings in Matt "Bust A" Capps to close it out in the 9th inning. Andres Torres gets a one out single and then Brandon Phillips gets a # single off of Omar Infante to put runners at the corners with one out. Will Venable then steps to the plate and busts a cap into Matt Capps' ass with a RBI single to tie the game up at 1-1. Then Jose Reyes came up and hit a flyball to Torii Hunter out in CF. Torii's past defensive prowess made Phillips think twice and he refused to tag up and score the go ahead run (Pete rolled CF-X and rolled a 16, which is the first F3 on the chart). Pinch hitter Nick Markakis struck out to end the inning and after Jim was retired in order by Luke Gregerson in his half of the 9th inning, the game then went into extra innings.

In the bottom of the 10th and Gregerson still on for Pete, Jim gets a leadoff single by Placido Polanco. Alexei Ramirez then sacrifices Polanco over to 2nd followed by  a non-advancing groundout by Miguel Montero. Pinch hitter Rickie Weeks draws a two out walk and then Omar "The Terrorist" Infante rips a single to right center field while screaming calls to Jihad for the game winning hit and a 3-0 series lead. Derek Holland records the victory in relief for Jim.

Ryan Braun goes 2 for 3 for Jim. Will Venable goes 2 for 4 for Pete.

Game 4

Jim 4 Pete 2 (Kershaw vs. Chacin)

Pete  000 100 001-  2 9 0
Jim   100 120 00X-  4 11 0

Nelson Cruz draws first blood for Jim with a two out RBI single in the first inning to give Jim the early 1-0 lead. In the top of the 4th inning, Kevin Youkilis hits a two out solo shot off of Clayton Kershaw to tie the game at 1-1. The tie lasted for one pitch as Pedro Alvarez hit Jhoulys "The Cruise Director" Chacin's first offering into the right field pavillion to give Jim a 2-1 lead after 4 innings.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Omar Infante leads off with a single followed by a RBI double by Colby Rasmus, who adavnces to 3rd on the throw to the plate. The Jewish Juicer, Ryan Braun stepped up to the plate and hit a comebacker right back to Chacin. Braun paused at the plate and showed off his chisled body to Jhoulys "The Cruise Director". Jhoulys was so impressed that she forgot what she was doing and threw to the plate too late, allowing Rasmus to score, which then gave Jim a 4-1 lead after 5 innings.

With two outs in the 9th inning, Brandon Phillips hits a solo shot off of Betancourt to cut Jim's lead down to 4-2. Jim then brings in Arthur Rhodes "Scholar" and he gets pinch hitter Jose Reyes to flyout to Colby Rasmus to end the series.

Omar Infante goes 3 for 4 with a SB for Jim. Kevin Youkilis goes 2 for 4 with a double and a HR for Pete.

Series sidenote: Jim rolls 9 HR possibilities in the series and gets 8 HR out of those chances. The only HR that was missed was on a 2-9 HR 1, double the rest by Pedro Alavarez. The other HR chances were as follows (HR to 11, double the rest (twice), HR to 7, flyout the rest (three times), HR to 15, flyout the rest, HR to 6, flyout the rest and one straight shot). In other words, that fickle bitch known as the 20 sided die, loved me long time for 4 straight games. I will call her "Lotus Blossom" for this series. Who knows what I will call her after my next series.
